LDS Members Now Have A Quicker Way To Take Names To The Temple
Last week we announced OneClickTempleTrip.com, a new website exclusively for members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS), commonly known as Mormons. OneClickTempleTrip.com allows LDS members to quickly and easily identify ancestors needing temple ordinance work. OneClickTempleTrip is not a site for doing genealogy, but instead is a site that greatly facilitates LDS members performing temple ordinances for their ancestors."
OneClickTempleTrip.com is completely separate and distinct from OneGreatFamily. It is a new product that interfaces with new.FamilySearch.org. Currently new FamilySearch is available only to members of the LDS Church. Because OneClickTempleTrip uses data in new FamilySearch you must currently be a member to use OneClickTempleTrip. The Church has stated that it will eventually open up access to all sometime this year.
OneClickTempleTrip.com ties directly to new.FamilySearch.org, the well-known and comprehensive genealogy database built and maintained by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The new web site has been certified by FamilySearch for temple ordinance work.
OneClickTempleTrip.com Quickly Identifies Ancestors in new FamilySearch.
The new FamilySearch database encompasses billions of Church records documenting family events such as birth, baptism, marriage, sealing, death, and more. The system is currently only accessible by LDS Church members.
All the user has to do is enter either his or her username and password from new.familysearch or LDS.org (the LDS account). OneClickTempleTrip.com then instantly constructs the family tree from new.FamilySearch data, combs through their pedigree to locate kindred dead requiring specified temple ordinances, and quickly synchronizes with FamilySearch to reserve the ordinances. All of this can be done on a home computer prior to going to the temple.
Without OneClickTempleTrip, users must perform arduous individual look-ups in the new FamilySearch database, hunting for icons in the family tree that indicate work to be done, examining each individual record to determine if the work needed matches the temple work planned, and repeating the process until the desired ordinances are identified.
OneClickTempleTrip.com automatically performs all these steps, taking as little as 1/15th the amount of time per name searched. The value of time saved is tremendous! Users must have a username and password for access to new.FamilySearch.org in order to use OneClickTempleTrip.com. A full year of access will cost $29.95 - however, subscribe now to take advantage of the $24.95 introductory price.
"Complexity is the primary challenge for 98 percent of Latter-day Saint members trying to unravel their family history to identify ancestors for Temple work," said Mark Mugleston, Editor-in-Chief of Mormon Entrepreneur. "In one click, OneClickTempleTrip.com removes the ambiguity of family history, prepares your family members for temple submission, and points you directly to the temple."
We invite OneGreatFamily LDS members to explore our new website and see how quickly and easily you can get names to take to the temple.
