What has OneGreatFamily concluded from the survey that was conducted?
OneGreatFamily's research analysts have now started the process of analyzing our survey results! Through this process we have seen what your needs and interests are. We are now starting to develop ideas that can help meet those needs.
OneGreatFamily became particularly interested in the responses of two questions. The first was, "Which of the following is most important to you when deciding to subscribe to OneGreatFamily?" The results indicated that the promise of finding more ancestors over time was most important when deciding to subscribe to OneGreatFamily.
If you were among those who chose this selection, subscribe to OneGreatFamily today! More than 70 million names have been submitted to OneGreatFamily, with between one and three million names being submitted to OneGreatFamily each month. With OneGreatFamily, you can always find more information, resources, or tools to help you further your genealogy. You are guaranteed further success over time as OneGreatFamily continues to enjoy phenomenal growth.
We also became interested in where individuals need the most help when doing their genealogy. We found that most individuals need help finding documents to verify information or important events. With each name that is added to your family tree by some individual other than yourself, an option is available to contact that person and find when, where, or how they received that data. You always have the option to verify your data, and to keep or delete the data.

What does OneGreatFamily offer their registered guests?

It has come to our attention that our guests have become confused about whether they are registered with OneGreatFamily or not. If you are reading this newsletter right now, you are registered with us! There are many features that you can access and use as a registered guest, such as this newsletter and our many tools and resources.
We encourage all guests to subscribe to OneGreatFamily because of the many features we offer that can help you save time, money, and effort. You can quickly see what information is available on OneGreatFamily.com before you subscribe by using three site features.
- Submitting Your Family Tree
Starting your family tree at OneGreatFamily is the best way to start finding your ancestors. As a registered guest, you can submit and maintain your family tree using Genealogy BrowserTM. OneGreatFamily will then employ its automated searching on your behalf to find more ancestors and information to add to your family tree. You can see the number of names that OneGreatFamily has found for you through the matching and merging process when you receive your GenMail email messages each week. GenMail is designed to let people know if their family trees are growing and where that growth occurs.
Any merge that takes place within your family tree has the potential of adding new ancestors to your family tree, but you will not be able to physically see the names that have been added to your tree unless you are a subscriber. The automated matching and merging is a key piece of the subscription services at OneGreatFamily.
- Ancestor Search
You can search for your ancestors using the form on the front page of OneGreatFamily.com. The search can be as specific or general as you choose. The only required information on the search form is your ancestor's last name.
After searching for your ancestor, members can click on a link to view the individual's family tree in Genealogy Browser.
- Genealogy Surname Index
Finally, you can also use the new Genealogy Surname Index to see if your ancestors are found at OneGreatFamily. This feature can be accessed from a link near the bottom of the front page. You can quickly find the last names you are researching and identify your ancestors from among the various entries found at OneGreatFamily.com.
