Surname
IndexA link to the new Surname Index is found in the footer
(the links near the bottom of the page) on each page of
OneGreatFamily.com. This new index is a way to browse
through the names available on OneGreatFamily and see
what information is available for these individuals.
You can typically see birth and death information if such
information is available. Subscribers can also use this
index to view or add information on the ancestors they
find. Subscribers can add source information, submit biographies,
or upload photos for their favorite ancestors.
You can begin by visiting the Surname Index page. You
then select the beginning letter for the last name you
are researching. You will then see a list of two-letter
combinations for the first two letters of the last name.
After clicking on the right two-letter combination, you
will see a list of three-letter combinations. After you
choose the right three-letter combination, you will see
a list of matching names.
The new Surname Index will be updated on a weekly basis.
Subscribers can see immediate updates through the Genealogy
Browser after logging in.

which of your ancestors can be found at OneGreatFamily.com.

viewing and submitting information on the individuals

How do
I see what information is available on OneGreatFamily.com
before I subscribe?You can quickly see what information is available on OneGreatFamily.com
using two site features.
- Ancestor Search
You can search for your ancestors using the form
on the front page of OneGreatFamily.com. The search
can be as specific or general as you choose. The
only required information on the search form is
your ancestor's last name.
After searching for your ancestor, members can
click on a link to view the individual's family
tree in Genealogy BrowserTM.
- Surname Index
The second way to see if your ancestors are found
at OneGreatFamily is to use the new Surname Index
feature. This feature can be accessed from a link
near the bottom of the front page. You can quickly
find the last names you are researching and identify
your ancestors from among the various entries
found at OneGreatFamily.com.
OneGreatFamily will continue to find ways for our guests
